BELSHAW, FRANK LESLIE

In 1911 they lived at 12 Eastville Street Nottingham. Employment/Hobbies In 1911 he was an estate agent's office boy. Military History Frank Leslie Belshaw joined the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment) in France on 18 March 1915 as part of a draft of 2 officers and 116 other ranks who arrived as replacements for losses at Neuve Chapelle. Two months after arriving in France, Frank died of wounds in Cambridge Hospital, England. He is buried in Nottingham Church Cemetery, grave - St Paul's 9192. Remembered on

RFR/PO/B/1192. Commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial HMS Good Hope was a Drake Class armoured cruiser built in 1901. By 1914 she was Rear Admiral Sir Christopher George Cradock’s flag ship which, along with HMS Monmouth and other British vessels of 4th Cruiser Squadron, encountered Vice Admiral von Spee’s Scharnhorst and Gneisenau forty five miles off the Chilean port of Coronel.
