19 July 2017Nottingham-born Sgt. Horace Newstead, 32nd Battalion Australian Imperial Force, was wounded at Fromelles on 19th July 1916.
The former sleeper hewer was the son of Eliza Ann Newstead, of 70 Dame Agnes Street, St. Ann's, Nottingham. He had enlisted at Blackboy Hill, Western Australia, on 19th May 1915.
He was wounded in action again on 28th September 1917.
