Suggestions came from out of the blue An array of ideas and "thingys" mam is plating up some bread and jam Tony's having a word at the pub and Donations from us to bring more Grub! Blue Bell Hill School, as already planned Joining up with Board School, they'll have a Band There's Talent among the Senty crowd Singers, Scottish Dancers, and more - we're so proud They can play Piano, &Spoons, & tell a few gags The air all blue with smoke, from all the fags. Drinks -Tiza, Vimto, Dandelion & Burdock ( Bitter & Mild ) Let your hair down, but don't go wild . Beer out the barrel flowing fast we want this party to last and last. Talking of memories " We've Treasured", like Lucky Charms How dare anyone say, we came from slums. We came from hard working Dads and Mums We had loads of parties (any excuse ) For us to have a knees up "that's the truth" Remember picnics on the Forest ? catering for yourself Oh how we'd all meet on the grass? Yes we did things like that in the 60's Not nowadays, it's a thing of the past The fun of this 1000th Celebration has filled me with Fascination ...... oh well I can dream, it's the story of my life ,love Jean x |

Thinking about how to celebrate when our 1000th member is added. My suggestion is a street party....or several street parties over the course of a week....at specified times to suit groups of us. I'll kick the idea off with me hosting a party at the Wessie Pub....for anyone familiar with that area...Westminster St, Donkey Hill, Chandos, Cromer, Billberry, ...... I can be online most days Oz time (UK time 11pm -2 am......11am - 2 pm)
Interested?
Great idea-so many good places we could celebrate different things x
Westminster Pub street party
- Mavis Baker Anyone else who will 'host' their particular street? Add the street name as an option above

Tony Ann Miller Mavis...not sure how to do it...but I could have a word with Bruce at the Havelock to see if he would put on a 1000th Party later in the week for the folks close by Meredith...Duncombe...Beverley...Bombay etc....Monday nights best as it's usually a quiet night for him...I guess if we had about 20 pub's up and down the Rd as different venues we would be able to cater for everyone...maybe on the same night...a bit like Bonfire night....then ring all the church bells in St. Ann's at midnight to celebrate..".Roll out the Barrel".........Cheers Tony.

Angie Miles The King Edgar on the corner of Edgar Rise and Peas Hill Road would be ok for a bit of a do. The Saxtons would be mine hosts, and the upstairs room would clean up with a bit of elbow grease and a new pair of curtains.. Give the Babycham glasses a polish up they will look like new. Cooked ham, haslet and black pudding for the sandwiches would be supplied by Jo Gant across the road, Tyers Sweet Shop would, Im sure, Throw in some Black Magic and Caley chocolate boxes, the ladies could even get their hair done at Mrs. Clarkes salon. And, if, God forgive, there is always Mrs. Bates and Mr Gasgoignes beer offs on the next corner. And all on the doorstep!!!
