CEMETERY Additional Information: Son of Arthur James Bostock, of 4, Conway St., St. Ann's Well Rd., Nottingham. Military History Pte. Bostock was called up for service and following training he was drafted to France. In 1918 the battalion moved to the Ypres Salient where Pte Bostock was wounded and taken to the Duhallow Advanced Dressing Station. He died there on 23/02/1918 and was buried in the dressing station cemetery. In 1911 they lived at 2 Wycliffe Grove Nottingham, before moving to 43 Conway Street, Nottingham Employment/Hobbies He was a lamp lighter in 1911, and had worked for the Corporation lighting department for 25 years before enlisting. Military Unit Army Service Corps Military History Pte. Hufton enlisted in Nottingham and was drafted to Salonica, where he served with the Spares Department of the Army Service Corps. Unfortunately he contracted dysentry, which was endemic in Salonica, and died on 04/07/1918. He was buried at Lembet Road Military Cemetery (1439) Remembered on |

Military Unit 104th Field Coy Royal Engineers Family History Father: Albert E. Toplis, born in 1849 at Bulwell, Nottingham and working as an iron turner. Mother: Mary Ann Toplis, born in 1852 at Nottingham. Brothers:Tom, born 1876 and working as a labourer, Harry, born in 1879, Ireand(?), born in 1883, Charley, born in 1886, Leonard, born in 1887 and Herbert, born in 1890. All the children were born in Nottingham. The family lived at 30 Marple Street, Nottingham before moving to 35 Conway Street, St. Ann's Well Road, Nottingham. Ernest Toplis married Ellen Toplis in 1903 and they had one son, Albert Ernest born in Nottingham in 1908. Military History Spr.
