I took these photographs as part of a college assignment while training to be a teacher at Clifton College. I guess the date most were taken was 1967. I expect too many years have passed for folks to recognise themselves in these pictures - but it would be great to hear from you if you do! I taught at Huntingdon Street school till around 1970. I remember the caretaker was Len Wing, the Head was Alan Richardson and the new Deputy Head was Ken Hopwood. The Year 6 teacher was Mick Vines. My class was the 8-9 year olds. I would love to hear from any ex-pupils who have memories of their time at Hunto. - David Coleman 2 March 2016
Paul Key: "About 2 or 3 years of age the bulge of a terry nappy, dirty cheeks and mucky mits, I suspect the bag is full of muck a being dumped on the cardboard, the kids version of sand castles, the isolation valve or possibly a fire hydrant cover placed in a poor reinstatement of roadworks, the well stained sandstone building is unusual, perhaps an older build than most buildings found in St Ann's, any clues to location?"
The capped scullery boiler chimneys, mixed surface water and dirty water drains, Redifussion cable along the walls, clothes line hooks set into the mortar and what could be a disgarded electricity cable that once fed the outside toilet, now that was progress

"So many contrasts in this set of photos. Some derelict and run down, then lovely little handkerchief sized gardens. I lived in a block 12-28 Brighton Street, and everyone of them had a small garden, tendered with love. Not much, but Gods little acres to their owners. Mrs Morgan's massive lilac tree, at no 22, everyone seems to have a vase full in their front room! My Dad even dug up the base of the air aid shelter and made it into a small vegetable patch!"

"What a smashing picture for me....Love to know the names of that gang of lads....I think that pic. is taken just out side Frank Bellamy Wall paper shop (pair of step ladders outside shop) 292/4 St Anns Well Road looking down the road just before you get to Lee's Sewing Machine Shop. Our shop was just a few yards away facing the Board School...lady with pram just passing the General Havelock Public House about to cross the bottom of Meredith St & look closely at the Board School steps people, teachers? walking up & captured in time."
Paul Key: No turn ups on jeans, probably a pair of ice blue jeans, short back and sides mother possibly in borrowing or returning the pattern book, ...... photographer would have been directly outside of Lee's Sewing Machine Shop,"
