This is my Dad's great uncle Joseph Clark. He was a seedsman before WWI and joined the Worcester Regiment where he was killed on 5 Nov 1916 after the terrible attempts to take the Butte of Warlencourt during the Somme battles. His mother Maria and sister Florrie were living at 1 Welbeck Street and his name is commemorated on the plaque in St Andrews Church at the bottom of Mapperley Road. His elder brother Bert is in a lot of later photos on here

Family History
He was the husband of Florrie Harris (née Newton) They were married at the Nottingham Registry Office on 4th October 1910 . They went on to have a daughter Connie. In 1911 they lived with his step mother, Emma Harris, at 72 Welbeck Street, St Ann's, Nottingham. Florrie later lived at 79 Hazelwood Road, Hyson Green, Nottingham. Her address at the time of her husband's death was 140 Noel Street, Nottingham. Following Joseph's death his widow Florence received a letter from the Ministry of Pensions dated 23rd October 1918 informing her she would receive a pension of 20 shillings and 5 pence a week commencing 4th November 1918 for her and her child.
