(Horace) Arthur was killed 1/7/1916 with 8th Bn KOYLI and Gordon Valentine was killed 19/3/1918 with RMLI. Employment/Hobbies He was employed as a labourer in 1911. Family History He was the son of Annie and the late John Collishaw Wykes and the brother of Harold, Blanche (m.1909), Horace, Lawrence, Leonard Ashton, Daisy Maud, Clarence and George Francis Wykes (one other sibling died in infancy). Lawrence was killed 18/6/1917 with 1/7th Bn Sherwood Foresters and (Horace) Arthur was killed 1/7/1916 with 8th Bn KOYLI. Employment/Hobbies He was employed as an errand boy in 1911. Extra Information Nottingham Evening Post notice (abridged), 23 March 1918: 'Wykes. Lost at sea March 19th, Private G Wykes RMLI, 30 St Alban's Street, age 20. Also I(?)
