• Christmas feast, trifle , pork pie , Homemade Christmas cake , happy family !!
• Lovely. A well stocked Christmas table. And catches the mood of an era. I like the glass trifle dish.
•  I felt like sitting down at the table, Happy days Christmas cracker ..paper hats , I still have a glass bowl and 8 dishes ,it was a wedding present 44 years ago ...aww cant part with it ,If it could speak ,it would tell you about all the parties it's attended ,it would have been drunk ,the amount of sherry that was put in some of the trifles . Home made Christmas cake ,,mince pies ,, Christmas pudding ,

Seeing as it's nearly Christmas I thought I'd post this pic of me taken at the big Co Op on Upper Parliament St .... circa 1956

I just get a warm glow about the feeling down the Road at this time of the year. Xmas Party at the Cavo with the road awash with orange peel, fun at school, Patrick and Greens window full of sparkle and boxes of pretty lacey hankies, queuing at Pork Farms for the pork pie. And what about Central Market at Christmas, yummy! What a shame we didn't have an abundance of photographs at that time.  

I can remember us all sitting round making the paper chains x
 
There were 32 kids on Cromer Rd we would all go Carol singing up Donkey Hill  
me mam worked at pork farms  
Well we are OK then.... with a bit of Pork Pie with our Xmas Party....Luvly M'Duck...
 
yeah remember carol singin' with the corners and the Parkers and the Voces good days  

The excitement of putting up the trimmings..Mum taking us into the market square to see the Christmas tree, and her plucking the chicken, making fruit mince pies.. And wishing for it to be snowing on Christmas day..Then waking up at the crack of dawn to see if Santa had been to my house..

Steve-Beq Clark Christmas Party for the staff of Hopewells the Furnishers based in St Anns. My Dad who also worked at Hopewells as well as my mum and aunt remembers the chap at the top being the dispatch foreman Ted Meakin. Date somewhere around mid 1950s.
