This is picture from a film clip that I've mentioned on here previously of Forest parading the FA Cup in 1959. I've watched it again today and realised that a bit of the film was taken on the junction of St Anns Well Road and Alfred Street Central with The Oliver Cromwell pub on the right with the bike shop behind the pub and the National Westminster Bank on the left. This bit in St Anns is at 27 seconds in to the film but only lasts for less than 3 seconds. There's a lot of St Anns people in this clip!

Alfred St Central

Going up Alfred Street Central first on the right was Cromwell Terrace then it would be Cooper Street next on the left at the Bay Horse was Hutchinson Street next on the right was Dane Street then Great Freeman Street opposite Lewis Street.
In the colour photo of our shop (Central Beer Stores), the next door neighbour TM Richardson, the butchers can be made out, which was the last shop before Alison Rise. On the left hand side of the Central Beer Stores is a lamp post. In the next photo that lamp post is on the left of the road. Opposite is a post box that is seen later in another of the back and white photos. (below) ..Simon Chambers

St Ann's Factories, Alfred Street North (front) St Ann's Hill Road (rear). The smaller factory centre front was a mens clothing manufacturer, Wright and Co. In the 1960's the boss was a Mr Beverely Wright who also used to have a small shop at Bulwell market place, called Beverelys. View west. Corner opposite is St Ann's Hill Road with Raywarp factory frontage. First and second right looking down Alfred Street would have been Kilbourn Street and Vicarage Street. View east.
