He was the son of Elijah and Mary Broadhead and the brother of Mary Isabel, Harry, Doris, Marjorie and Dora Broadhead. In 1911 they lived at 2 Greyfriar Place Greyfriar Gate and later at 12 Great Freeman Street Alfred Street (both Nottingham).
