Cemetery: ETAPLES MILITARY CEMETERY Family History Son of William and Mary Belshaw, (who in 1911 lived at 12 East Ville St Nottingham). Husband of Eveline, father of Thomas, Frank and Edmund. Eveline(Evelyn) was living at 17 Kemp's Cottages Lowdham St Nottingham at the time of George's enlistment. Occupation Pavier Military History Belshaw had previously served with 4th Bn Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment) and purchased his discharge. He was recalled from the Reserve and attested 26/8/1914 standing 5' 6" tall and weighing 155lbs. He was awarded ten days detention for absence in October 1914 and was posted 12/8/1915. Extra Information 26/6/1916 Belshaw's widow was awarded a weekly pension of 22/6d for herself and four children. Belshaw had several tattoos - Girls with a flag, Horses head, Butterfly and I Love E D on his chest. (ASR) Remembered on
