This is a picture of Thomas Bow Lamartine Street. Thomas Bow were celebrating 150 years in business and were asking for pictures and information of their past. I sent this picture. The only information I have regarding it is that I think one of the men in the picture is my mothers brother Trevor Swain who I never met. If anybody has any more information I would be very interested.
Mam worked very hard at the Raleigh, I'm including a photo of what I believe to be 'back in the day' My Dad worked at Boots and later was a postman. When demolition came they were offered a joint position as caretaker and cleaner at Bentinck Court flats, Lenton and later transferred to Manvers Street flats, Sneinton..(Elaine Carter Fox)
St Ann's Factories, Alfred Street North (front) St Ann's Hill Road (rear). The smaller factory centre front was a mens clothing manufacturer, Wright and Co. In the 1960's the boss was a Mr Beverely Wright who also used to have a small shop at Bulwell market place, called Beverelys. The large factory at the rear was Raywarp on St Ann's Hill Road.
