Family History
At the time he enlisted Percival named his mother, Ada Hutchinson, of 5 Clarence Stairs, Clarence Street, Sneinton, as his next of kin. At the time of the 1911 census his family was living in a terrace of Haywood Street, Sneinton; father, Henry, siblings Frank (14), Grace (12), Henry (4), Arthur (3) and Sidney (11months). It is probable that Percival, who was older than his siblings, had already emigrated to Canada, presumably under the juvenile emigration scheme sponsored by Oliver Hind, founder of the Dakeyne Street Lads' Club. He was married to Drusilla King (formerly Hutchinson), of 79, Seymour St., Carlton Rd., Nottingham (CWGC) whom he married on on 3 January 1916, less than 2 months after he returned to England with his battalion. Drusilla was awarded a widow's pension; her address was then 104 Manvers Street, Sneinton. She remarried on 23 November 1918.
Employment/Hobbies
Member of 2nd Nottingham Company Boys' Brigade (Dakeyne Street Lads' Club). His occupation when he attested was that of telegraphist/telegrapher.
