LOWDHAM STREET
This is me, approximately aged six, sitting on the window sill of my grandparents’ - Mabel and Walter Fox’s - house, 36 Lowdham Street, near the old Wright’s and Dobson’s factory, Carlton Road, pre-demolition. I have vivid memories of that little house with all its visitors. My Grandma, Mabel, was a midday supervisor at Hogarth School. The walk down to the dinner centre at St Matthias must have felt like an eternity with all those children! (Tracy Simpson)
